About the Creek

Nurture your soul in beautiful Bragg Creek, on the edge of Kananaskis Country, surrounded by old growth forests, pristine meadows and stunning mountain views. All this… and only 30 minutes from Calgary. The area was named after two brothers, Albert and John Bragg from Nova Scotia, who built the first homestead in the area in 1894. They were drawn to the raw, isolated beauty of what would become known as Bragg Creek.

Today’s residents enjoy the tranquility of country living and the convenience of being only a short drive away from Canada’s most vibrant city.

Marvel at the abundance of wildlife, fresh mountain air and clear running rivers and streams for fishing, kayaking and rafting. Just as it did for the settlers more than 100 years ago, Bragg Creek offers an escape from the ordinary and rejuvenation to all who call it home. Bragg Creek is also home to a gorgeous pallet of plant species including rare alpine flowers. It is the gateway to 4,200 square kilometers of Kananaskis Country and offers hundreds of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, or cross country skiing.
